Professor Michael Wilkinson BA, LLB (Cantab) is Chairman of the Law Faculty Board and former Head of the Department of Professional Legal Education at the University of Hong Kong. He is a barrister-at-law of the Inner Temple.

Alfred read law at the University of Hong Kong and the University of Cambridge. He was the Bar Scholar in 2005 and started his practice as a barrister in 2006. His practice mainly involves civil work, concentrating on administrative law, commercial and personal injuries cases. In 2008, he was the research assistant to the Judiciary for the Civil Justice Reform, providing materials for training courses attended by judges and judicial officers. He is also a CEDR accredited mediator.

He has been teaching at the University of Hong Kong since 2006, and is now an Adjunct Associate Professor of the Department of Law. For the undergraduate degree, he has taught Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Contract Law, Tort Law, Equity & Trusts, and Legal History. For the PCLL course, he has been a tutor for Civil Litigation & Advocacy, and the Personal Injuries elective.

Davy's research interests include company law, corporate governance, and corporate rescue. He attained a doctorate degree in law from The University of Hong Kong and a master's degree in business administration from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a member of the Advisory Group on Modernisation of Corporate Insolvency Law (appointed by the Financial Services and Treasury Bureau of the Hong Kong Government). He is a director of a professional diploma programme in insolvency for the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also an independent non-executive director of Convoy Financial Services Holdings Limited.

Ody is also a Fellow Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong and in Philippines. She worked in various accounting and managerial positions for more than 15 years.
Dr. Alex Lau Dr. Alex Lau


Dr. Alex Lau is a Consultant of Haldanes. He is an examiner in Head V of OLQE. He has previously taught OLQE Head I (L & T), III and IV (conduct). At the Law Society of Hong Kong, he sits on the Guidance Committee and is also an RME tutor. Alex is a graduate of the universities of Aberdeen (PhD), UCL (LLM), S. Mdst (LLM), W. Ontario (EMBA) (Distinction), NYU/HKUST (Finance), HKU (PCLL), and City Poly (BA Law). He appeared in Who's Who of the Law in HK in 1998, 2000 and 2003/4.

Gary qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and practiced insurance litigation with several leading UK firms. He was also subsequently Called to the Bar in England.

He began teaching at BPP in 2000. He was a Director of BPP Professional Development in 2004-05 and was the Course Director of BPP Law School's Full-Time Bar Vocational Course (BVC) in 2005-07.

Gary joined HKU in 2007 and teaches civil procedure, commercial litigation and professional practice on the PCLL. He also teaches insurance law on the LLB and LLM programmes.

He is a Director of the Faculty's Asian Institute of International Financial Law (AIIFL). He is also a member of the editorial board of the Hong Kong Law Journal.

Gary is a member of the Law Society's Insurance Law Committee and a member of the Examining Panel under the Higher Rights of Audience Rules. He is also a former director of the Hong Kong Insurance Law Association

Amanda is an Associate Professor in the Department of Professional Legal Education where she has led the Criminal Litigation course on The University of Hong Kong's Postgraduate Certificate of Laws for 12 years. She has also taught Professional Practice, Civil Litigation, and Advocacy, both the University of Hong Kong and at the City University of Hong Kong.

She has extensive experience in trial prosecution in Australia where she is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia. In 2005 she was the first local candiate to pass the Hong Kong Bar Association's Qualification Examinations.

She is currently a parctising member of the Hong Kong Bar and a preosecutor on fiat for the Department of Justice in Hong Kong. In 2001 she was awarded the University of London's Convocation Trust Brigid Cotter prize for obtaining the highest aggregate on the external LLM programme.

She is currently chief examiner for The Law Society of Hong Kong's Overseas Lawyer's Qualification Examinations in Criminal Procedure (Head II) and was previously an examiner in Professional Conduct (Head IV), for seven years.

Her research interests include criminal justice and administration, environmental law (incuding animal law), and PRC criminal law and procedure.
